During the first shocking days after the September terrorist attacks, Exie-Net message boards became a clearing-house for information on alumni/ae. As Exonians reached out to one another across the miles, the power of Exie-Net as a tool for connection was never more apparent.
Exie-Net offers a range of online services to alumni/ae,
including a "live" alumni/ae directory, message boards and career networking. A host of online Harkness discussions are also scheduled for the coming year. You also may use Exie-Net to post messages for the families of Michael Packer '73, Scott Saber '82 and Eric Thorpe '85, lost in the World Trade Center attack.
In good times and bad, the Exeter community remains strong. We encourage you to use Exie-Net (http://phillips.exeter.edu) to stay in touch with one another
and the Academy.
"Though there are no words to address the profound nature of your loss, I wanted to extend my small offering to your family. The thoughts and prayers of my own family as well as the Exonian community are with you. Please know that you are not alone."

Have Something For Everyone

"Exeter deserves our help because it has a winning formula: take great students from across the country and all corners of the globe, put them around the Harkness table, and let them learn actively from each other and from inspiring faculty. For me, and I know for many other Exonians, this made Exeter more exciting than any other school. "Exeter needs our help to perfect and apply this formula. Whether it be extending Harkness to the sciences-gloriously accomplished-or renovating the dorms to reduce the student-faculty ratio to the Harkness ideal, the Academy is working to complete the Harkness revolution. "Younger alums have an important role in this effort. No matter where we are in our careers or our schooling, we can each volunteer some time or write a check to the annual fund. "In my 15 years as class agent, there's never been a more exhilarating time to support the Academy, particularly as we prepare to implement the priorities of the Academy Master Plan. If we work hard for Exeter, Exeter will continue to set the standard for secondary schools." Jeremy Bates '86 |
